The Rotary Club of Nashua West is excited to announce the recipients of $15K in scholarship monies to twelve deserving high school seniors.
 
The presentation ceremony was opened by Ryan Wilkie, a 2022 award recipient of the Suzi Fund. Ryan currently attends the UMASS Lowell, majoring in Digital Media and Communications where he is studying the artistry of music and film.
 
Here is a list and explanation of the 2023 Rotary West Scholarships presented and the individuals who were awarded.
The Suzie Fund Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who are not in the top ten percent of their graduating class.  The individual must have demonstrate admirable improvement in academic achievement over their four years while demonstrating the ability to overcome some adversity that may have taken place during the four years of high school, or in their life.  The applicant must also demonstrate maturity, a desire to improve and succeed, and a proven capacity for potential achievement in college and beyond.  Special consideration is given to those with financial needs. Funds are in memory of former member of the Rotary Club in honor of Susan Szok, his daughter.

Community College Scholarship is awarded to one or more students who are graduating high school seniors planning to attend a Community College, or a current student of Nashua Community College, who is completing their Freshman year of college.  It is given to students who display high standards in academic excellence and excel in extra-curricular activities and community involvement.  Special consideration for this scholarship is given to financial need.
 
The recipient of the Community College Scholarship was:

The Rotary Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors in the top 10% of their class who display overall excellence in academics, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. Special consideration is given to financial need.

The Interact Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who display excellence in academics, extra-curricular activities and community involvement.  Special consideration is given to financial need and community involvement.

Each year the Rotary Club of Nashua West is pleased to be able to award scholarships to local students totaling at least $15K.
